Endangered Childhood

The headline said, “Toddlers to be taught about cross-dressing in a controversial sex-ed program”.

What really caught my attention was this nonsensical statement from Early Childhood Australia spokeswoman Claire McHugh. She said that the proposed sex-ed program would reduce domestic violence because ‘rigid views on gender’ were associated with violence and domestic violence.

Let me paraphrase that piece of Orwellian double-speak just in case you don’t get it. People who believe men are men and women are women are more violent than those who don’t.

The subtext is that if we could just get rid of maleness and embrace gender deconstruction, helping men to become more like women, the world would be a far better place! If we teach our kids in pre-school that there is no such thing as male or female and we totally deconstruct gender, all will be well! While we are at it, let’s teach our children that homosexuality is normal and bully anyone in the classroom or the wider community that disagrees with us.

Everyone knows that when you are right, everyone else must be wrong, and you need to bully your opponents out of existence to prove it. Oh, and just for the record, the way we will achieve the total deconstruction of gender is to redefine sex, maleness and femaleness by redefining marriage. Once we redefine marriage to include same sex marriage, we will have achieved the total deconstruction of gender and our victory is a forgone conclusion.

I hear you say, “Warwick, you have been eating too much spicy pizza!” Well instead of my words, let’s hear it from the proponents of this philosophy.

Proponent of gender deconstruction and radical feminist, Masha Gessen, says, “Gay marriage is a lie. Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there. The institution of marriage is going to change and it should change, and again I don’t think it should exist.”

Perhaps you think that Masha is over the top? What about radical feminist Sheila Cronin who says, “Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage” or Germaine Greer who said, “Testosterone is a rare poison”.

One of Australia’s most respected journalists, Paul Kelly, exposed the plan of the gender deconstructionists in an article in The Australian newspaper last weekend.

“The Safe Schools Coalition agenda taken up by about 500 schools in this country to promote understanding of gender and sexual diversity is a brilliant insight into the ideological campaigns now transforming cultural values in Australia through capture of institutions…

A reading of the materials shows this ideology is relentless and explicit: gender is not a binary male-female stereotype but a process of self-expression and “how you feel inside” and “may change over time”. Gender should not be reduced to the question “is it a boy or a girl?” because “there are a whole range of human bodies that are somewhere between”.

The philosophy is that “it’s up to the individual to describe what gender identity fits them best”. There are many such identities; it is a process of self-selection…
Gender fluidity is promoted as a worthwhile and desirable choice for young students. The program’s aim is to integrate gender and sexual diversity across the curriculum and it is assumed this is a step towards healthy living…

There is no serious sign of respect for parents who have reservations. Just the reverse — they are patronised and insulted by indirect linkage as extremists and homophobes.”

Even Chris Uhlmann, the political editor for the ABC, expressed his concern in an article in The Australian about anyone who disagrees with the new thought police.

“Tolerance is the totem of our age, a bumper sticker of virtue. Yet hidden in its many meanings is the doublespeak of defining what will be taboo. It is now considered tolerant to demand silence from nonconformists.

When the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commission says the Catholic Church has a case to answer for robustly defending its views on marriage and the family, then we have seen a glimpse of the Marcusian future. And it is just one gust of the gale buffeting a society hollowed out by its intellectuals… If offending the new ruling hegemony is prohibited then I stand with the right of the minority to disagree.”

Merv Bendle exposed the seriousness of the Gender Deconstruction Agenda in an article called ‘Your Kids, Their Lab Rats’.

“Safe Schools advocates shriek ‘Homophobia!’ at the suggestion their crusade to introduce young minds to cross-dressing and the like is anything other the ‘anti-bullying campaign’ they claim it to be. Let us hope there are still some politicians prepared to wear such abuse as a badge of honour…

Meanwhile, it has been alleged in federal Parliament that Gary Dowsett, the deputy director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at LaTrobe University, where the Safe Schools program originated, advocated a favourable view of paedophilia in an article published in 1982, when Dowsett was a school teacher (“Irate MPs plan Safe Schools rumble”, The Australian, 17/3).

The article, published in Gay Information, identified three principal political objectives for paedophiles: winning custody rights over children for gay men and lesbians; ensuring the legal “rights” of paedophiles and their young lovers; and establishing the sexual rights of children. It sought to draw a comparison between the “sexual responses” of parents for their children and “the love of a paedophile and his/her [young] lover”. The article declared that the current paedophilia debate then is crucial to the political processes of the gay movement; paedophiles need our support, and we need to construct the child/adult sex issue on our terms.

Why should Australian families have to put up with this propaganda, the sexual and revolutionary fantasies of far-left ideologues? Why should they have to worry when they send their 11- and 12-year children to school, that they will be exposed to fiercely committed LGBTI operatives anxious only to impose their minority and highly contested view of sexuality on extremely vulnerable and suggestible minds?”

The unfortunate reality is that the zealots pushing deconstruction of gender, more often than not, share a common hatred of the male of the species. As Bettina Arndt points out in her article called, Domestic Violence and the Demonization of Men.

It has been an interesting exercise challenging the current witch hunt on domestic violence. As my article, silent victims, in the Weekend Australian points out, the zealots controlling debate on this issue are successfully demonizing men and white-washing women’s role in family violence.

The reality is very different from the picture constantly presented of dangerous men terrorizing their families. Over 1700 articles in peer-reviewed journals conclude domestic violence is not a gender issue, both women and men are actively involved in most violence in the home, women often initiate violence, and it isn’t simply self-defence. Even though physical violence by women causes fewer injuries, it is by no means harmless with women more likely to use weapons and men sustaining a third of the injuries from partner violence.

Most children growing up in violent homes are cowering not just from their fathers but their mothers as well – all available Australian data clearly shows women are the major abusers of children. So what are these children to conclude from current public discussion of this issue –that only Dad’s violence matters? That only Dad can be held responsible for the terror these children experience? Surely this does nothing to break the cycle of violence putting future generations at risk.”

Miranda Devine in her incisive article Sexual Thought Police Should Back Off asks the right question.

“In the national Start Early program, being rolled out at childcare centres and kindergartens next month, toddlers reportedly will be taught about sexuality, cross-dressing, and the fluidity of gender roles, and may even take group tours of the opposite sex’s toilets…

It was bad enough when we heard 11-year-olds were being advised to bind their breasts and tuck in their penises to practice being a member of the opposite sex. But the thought police invading preschools is positively Orwellian.

Has the world gone mad?”

Lovework

Firstly, if the world does go mad, make sure that you don’t, because your family needs you.

Secondly, we can be thankful Prime Minister Turnbull has seen the light and moved to straighten out the Safe Schools mess.

Thirdly, the battle is not yet over for our children as you can see from the move to begin the radical sexual ideological indoctrination in preschools. Our kids’ childhoods are in danger! We must continue to make a stand for our children. Contact your local preschool and again, contact your local Member of Parliament.

Yours for our children
Warwick Marsh

PS. Thank you for your letters and phone calls to complain about the insidious Safe Schools Coalition agenda. Unfortunately there is still more work to be done. Together we are making a difference!
