Valentines Day and the Key to a Woman’s Heart

I have heard so many men complain to me, “My wife is very high maintenance”. In most cases this statement shows a distinct lack of understanding of the fairer sex.

The truth of the matter, from a man’s point of view, is all women are high maintenance.

A man’s needs are very simple: food, s*x, sleep. OK, that’s a huge over-simplification, but there’s more truth in it than we care to imagine.

If you want an education about the difference between men and women check out this YouTube link:

Mark Gungor points out in the above Video that men have a box in their brains called ‘Nothing’. Men are not complicated as Mark shows rather humorously but women are.

So what’s this got to do with St Valentine’s Day?

Let me tell you.

To men, Valentine’s Day is another day of the year in which there are 365 days available. From a woman’s point of view, Valentine’s Day is a very important day. It is a chance for a man to show love and attention to her, and women love attention. Women are in love with the idea of being in love. Men run on testosterone while women run on oxytocin. Dr John Gray, author of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus explains it better.

Where women are concerned, oxytocin – known as a social attachment hormone – is vital for a healthy, happy relationship. Though men and women have, on average, similar levels of oxytocin in their bloodstreams, women have more oestrogen, which boosts its effectiveness. Researchers have discovered that oxytocin lowers stress in women, but does not have the same effect in men.

It is produced in great quantity during childbirth and lactation, and during orgasm in both sexes. In women, oxytocin levels can rise during a massage and fall in response to feeling ignored or abandoned.

The hormone affects social recognition and bonding as well as the formation of trust between people. Oxytocin stimulates maternal behaviour in women as well as sexual arousal.

It reduces blood pressure, stress symptoms and fear. Studies have shown that animals and people with high levels of oxytocin are calmer, less anxious and more social.

Levels increase when women connect with someone through friendship, sharing, caring and nurturing, and decrease when a woman misses someone or experiences a loss or break-up, or feels alone, ignored, rejected, unsupported and insignificant.

A woman in love has high levels of oxytocin. She is consumed by thoughts of giving freely of herself and sharing more time with her partner.

To feel good in a relationship, a woman needs to trust that her partner cares for her as much as she cares for him. This kind of support directly affects her oxytocin levels, which in turn will lower her stress.

Scientific experiments have shown that for a woman, even anticipating a romantic date or special event can boost her oxytocin levels. That’s another reason for doing something unique for the woman of your dreams. Planning it in advance is of vital importance. A woman just loves it when a man takes the initiative in this area – it means so much to her.

That’s why Valentine’s Day is so important. It is getting hard to book a restaurant on Valentine’s Day because the day is getting so popular but remember you can always do it the day after. Just don’t forget because your attention, care and forethought mean the world to your woman – just because it shows you care.

Lovework

Celebrate Valentine’s Day. Send a card. Buy some flowers or do something special on the day, or very soon after. Make sure you tell her you are planning something special. Doesn’t have to be big – just special. She will have an oxytocin overload.

Women are more high maintenance than men, but it’s all worth it when you understand the long term rewards.

Yours for more rewards
